Love List – March 2019

Spring is here and the days are finally getting longer. Yay for sunshine, warmth, chirping birds and blooming flowers!

I’m so excited to share our March picks with you. Here’s a roundup of favs from our staff and readers. Enjoy!

~ Kristen Toshner, Style Editor

Baby Milestone Stickers ~ $13

Our Editor, Melissa, LOVED using these milestone stickers during her daughter’s first year. There are 32 high quality unisex stickers for age milestones as well as holidays.

InterDesign Clear Linus Lazy Susan ~ $13+

Thanks to my recent move, I’m on a major organizing kick. This lazy susan from the Container Store is awesome for so many pantry items — spices, oils, etc. Just spin it around ’til you find what you need rather than rifling through rows of bottles.

Skiphop Playview Expandable Enclosure ~ $160

This new play pen enclosure from Skip Hop is modern and understated (though not cheap!). It’s perfect for my little guy who needs a safe space to play in. Bonus: you can configure this enclosure in a number of different ways.

*See below for more affordable (though not as cute!) play pen options.

Alternate options:

Hunter Kids’ Rain Boot ~ $ varies

For most of the country, spring and summer mean rain and puddles. Hunter boots are the best of the best; their high quality means the bottoms won’t start to wear down after two weeks like — cough, cough — many of the other cheaper brands.

Forget the kids, mom needs good rain boots too. These are on sale at 6pm.com! They’re still an investment, but I have had my pair for 12 years now. That means a lot coming from a Seattlite!

Salad in a Jar ~ $ 11

Meg: “I stumbled across this book on a recent stop into Anthrologie and I love!!! With warmer weather upon us, we’re switching from hot foods to cold. And since Lucie has Celiac’s Disease, preparing lunches for school is always a struggle; but with just a little effort and planning, you can bring a delicious — and hearty! — salad along to work instead of eating another burrito. Nicoise, chef’s salad, fattoush, curried chicken: yes please! Whole foods, FTW!

This jar is my favorite for salad making. I even send it to school with the kids and they love shaking it up and feasting on their salads.

Copper Pearl 3-Pack Burp Cloths ~ $20

This beautiful 3-pack of burp cloths has become my go-to baby gift. IMO, there is just no better cloth for absorbency —  and they’re literally the cutest prints on the market.

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer ~ $54

Dyson makes a similar version to this styler, but it’s big bucks. I decided to give this less expensive version a try, and I am super happy with it! It dries my hair quickly while simultaneously adding volume and curl — this means my hair prep time is cut in half. Amazing!!

Old Navy Striped Tie Front Dress ~ $20

One of my favorite childhood memories is picking out a Spring/Easter dress every year. Oh the nostalgia! This lil’ dress is absolutely darling, and the best part is that while perfect for Spring, its seasonless stripe print means it can be worn all year long.

HABA My Very First Games – First Orchard ~ $25

Our unseasonably cold winter in Seattle has meant more snow days than ever for us and — GULP — dreaded canceled school days. This is a game that my 2- and 5-year-old can both grasp and play together. It’s very simple to understand — a diluted version of the original game Orchard. The pieces, including the dice, aren’t teeny tiny, which makes it easy for even the smallest hands to hold.

Quiksilver Kids Monkey Caged Sandal ~ $30

I always have to get creative for my boys because they don’t like flip flops just yet and Native Shoes tend to give them blisters (and at $40+, I am not a fan). I found these at Zappos and love them. No crazy patterns or prints, easy and durable Velcro straps for adjusting, and a decent tread. Oh — and a $30 price point. Done and done.

New Balance Fresh Foam Sport Lightweight Running Shoe ~ $70

Whenever I can find a high-performing, inexpensive, nice-looking athletic shoe, I get excited. This is a perfect sneaker for running…or for “running” to get coffee in your yoga pants.

Target Toddler Girls Flutter Sleeve One-Piece Swimsuit ~ $12

Swimsuits have arrived, people! This might be the cutest thing ever and may make me try for a baby girl (JK my 5- and 2-year-old sons are currently on a mission to kill me). Scoop these Target suits up before they sell out!

Tula Coast Beyond – Tula Explore Baby Carrier ~ $179

New this month!! It’s no secret that we love Tula. The new “Coast” carrier style has a wider mesh panel in the middle for ventilation. This carrier is perfect for active lifestyles and warmer climates and is available in a number of fun prints! See also: Favorite Baby Carriers and Best Hiking Carriers

Old Navy Pullover Hoodie for Toddler Boys ~ $10

This is such a cute hoodie for colder spring mornings — and the price is right! I am just such a fan of little boys in light pinks and purples.

Cushybaby Bath Kneeler and Elbow Rest Pad Set ~ $34

Boy, do I wish I had this for those early bathing days when I needed to kneel right next to the tub. This is a serious knee-saver for new parents (and grandparents who take help take care of their grandbabies!).

Baby deedee Oversized Cotton Baby and Toddler Quilt ~ $65

Baby deedee is one of my top picks when it comes to sleep sacks. Their Sleep Nest Teddy is always my favorite winter sleep sack with a 2.5 TOG. They recently sent me a sample of their new blanket and I love it so much I’ve been known to snatch it from my sons! Ha! Spring nights can be cool, and this blanket is super cozy.

Cohen (5 yrs old) loves snuggling our new baby deedee blanket!
