Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018

Hi! I’m Kristen, the Lucie’s List Fashion Editor, and I’m going to share with you all of my pro tips for shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which I’ve accumulated from years of working at Nordstrom Corporate, living in Seattle, and shopping there since I was a teen.

It is happening TODAY, people. We expect most of this stuff to sell out within the day.

What’s unique about this sale is that it’s product from an upcoming season – FALL! – on sale now. Fall is the biggest season in the fashion world, so buying new items for this season (at sale pricing) – is pretty rare.

Also: designer baby gear brands, like Nuna, Bugaboo and Thule, neeeeeever go on sale, so this is a rare opportunity to save some cash on select items.

I try and strategize when shopping this sale. Essentially, I have a few top items I shop for every year and count on buying during this sale. Stuff I know I’m gonna need, like jeans and boots.

Here’s what I go for:

Designer Denim: these jeans always have a hefty price tag, so pricing during this sale is amazing. Remember, people, PPW (price per wear!)
Boots (and shoes in general): Nordstrom started in the shoe business and this sale actually started with just shoes! Hunter, Ugg and a number of brands have some great styles in this sale at an easier-to-swallow price point.
Cozy Tops & Sweaters: if you’re into cashmere and other high-end fabrics, this is a great time to buy it. You can even find styles under $100. There are also many good cardis and warm sweaters for the fall/winter.
Athletic Gear: because leggings are the mom uniform – of course!
Beauty: there are always great value sets during the sale. This is a great time to try a new cosmetic company you wouldn’t normally spring for.
Big Brands: this is when you can shop bigger brands like Patagonia, Nike, and The North Face. Pull the trigger on that Patagonia down vest you’ve been eyeing!

I bought as a nice alternative to my traditional rain coat. Perfect match with leggings.

The perfect sunglasses for your little one. Size 0-2 yrs.

Mifold Grab-and-Go Booster Seat ~ $49 during sale, $75 after

Perfect for travel, carpools and grandma’s house. During this sale, you can get the premium sport version (leather, added comfort and racing stripe detail) for just $10 more than the original model.

Little Giraffe Blanket ~ $56 during sale, $86 after

This is a great baby shower gift. In our family (Melissa), baby sister gave it to big brother when she was born. He treasures it like no other.
